'Big Brother 17' Premiere: 'After Dark' Show Broadcast On New 'Pop' Network, Starting In Late June
Big Brother: After Dark will be broadcast on a new channel this summer for Big Brother 17.
CBS Announces Premiere Date For 'Big Brother 17'
The new home of Big Brother: After Dark is Pop, which is actually just a rebranding of the old TVGN network. The Big Brother companion show begins after the second episode of BB17 airs on CBS on Thursday, June 25.
Pop essentially has the same amount of censorship as the old TVGN network, so fans should still expect a not-entirely-uncensored look at what's happening in the house. Last year, TVGN aired Big Brother: After Dark from midnight to 2 a.m., so the schedule will probably be the same this year.
'Big Brother 17' Live Feeds Will Be Their Lowest Price Ever
With After Dark beginning after the Thursday, June 25 episode, it will line up with when the live feeds begin on the CBS website.
The Big Brother live feeds are cheaper than ever this year. They will be available through the CBS All Access streaming service, which is $5.99 per month. This is a 25 percent drop from last year's live feed price.
However, one piece of bad news for Canadian fans of the show is that only American viewers can sign up for CBS All Access. Many Canadian fans have taken to Twitter to express their outrage.
Meanwhile, the semifinalists for Big Brother 17 have all been contacted, according to casting director Robyn Kass. The cast is usually announced about a week before the premiere.
Big Brother 17 begins on Wednesday, June 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
