Jaiying's death certainly put a wrench in SHIELD's relations with the secretive Kree legacies, but ABC has revealed that Skye (Chloe Bennet) won't be entirely bereft of her new family as the series moves forward.

Lincoln (Luke Mitchell) will become a series regular during the third season.

First introduced in "Afterlife," the literal sparkplug quickly became a fan favorite despite his brief participation in the war against SHIELD (see video below), making Mitchell's promotion a hot topic amongst viewers.

"Thank you so much for all the love!" Mitchell tweeted on Tuesday. "I'm so grateful to be part of this show and I can't wait to get into SEASON 3! #AgentsofSHIELD."

Lincoln will most likely be involved in Skye's "Caterpillar" operation - a new project from Coulson (Clark Gregg) that might help set up a connection with Marvel Comic's Secret Warriors.

"I would say setting up is perhaps an over statement," executive producer Jeffery Bell teased, according to Entertainment Weekly. "Certainly we're tipping our hat to a woman named Daisy Johnson talking to Coulson about a secret group of powered people."

Do you think Lincoln's trajectory will land him in that storyline? Sound off in the comments below!
