'Party Down South' Cast News: Lil' Bit Addresses Critics About Keeping Gun Near 1-Month-Old Son [PHOTO]
She's no longer a part of the Party Down South universe, but former star Taylor 'Lil' Bit' Wright is still finding herself the subject of controversy after posting a photo of her boyfriend Dalton Elliott & their one-month-old son Nash--with a handgun clearly visible in the background.
Lil Bit Gives Birth--Welcome Nash Elliott!
TMZ was the first to report on the photo, saying that the ex-reality star was suffering some major backlash from the incident, though she defended her right to have the gun in the first place when reportedly reached for comment.
"By God I will unload on somebody if they break in and try to hurt me or my family," she told them.
And since the story broke, she has also responded on social media, sharing posts on her Instagram page detailing how she would use the controversy to help sell one of the shirts from her fashion line, as well as show that she was proud to have a gun in the first place.
"Oh, I wasn't Lyin! SALE bc they only saw the gun and not my stack of bibles and devotions...let's go!!! #LookForThePositive ALWAYS ARMED WITH JESUS AND A GUN! #AndProudOfIt lilbitsouth.com," she captioned a photo of a t-shirt she sells with the slogan 'Armed with Jesus and a Gun' printed on it.
She later shared a post showing her holding her gun in front of her while wearing the shirt, captioning it "armed with Jesus & a gun #amen #nofilter."
And though TMZ reported she was receiving a lot of backlash for the incident, it appears more fans have emerged to support the former reality star, with some also praising her for thinking of her family's safety. (Lil Bit was quoted by TMZ as saying she keeps the gun in safety mode for now and when her son is older she intends to keep it out of reach).
"@LilBitSouth don't worry bout them haters! Do they really think your newborn is going 2 crawl up there and pull the trigger? @2ndamendment," one fan wrote.
"@TMZ I'm on her side, we also have a gun (shotgun) in close range to r bed. Hey ya never no who's going to walk through ur door," another said.
"@LilBitSouth I have 5 kids gun has always been on side table and none have ever messed w it. They are now some of the best shooters," another added.
