The Jacksonville Jaguars (1-7) will look to put a stop to their downward spiral when they face off against rookie QB sensation Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts (5-3) in a "Thursday Night Football" showdown.

The Jaguars have performed extremely poor this season, especially at home. The team has been dominated by their opponents by a 126-34 margin in their very own confines of EverBank Field. Jacksonville is also coming off a disappointing loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday by a 31-14 score.

Ironically enough, the team's lone victory of the NFL season came against the Colts in a 22-17 upset that occurred on Sept. 23. Since their first game, the two teams' seasons have gone in complete opposite directions. While Indianapolis has won four out of their last five, the Jaguars have been defeated five straight times.

In order for the underdog Jacksonville to have a shot at taking out the overachieving Colts in Week 10, QB Gabbert and the Jacksonville attack must minimize Indianapolis' pass rush. The young signal caller must succeed in systematically pushing the football further down the field in order to capitalize on scoring opportunities.

In order to maximize the offense's effectiveness, RB Rashad Jennings, who took over for the injured Maurice Jones-Drew, must also step up his ground game. Jennings is only averaging a mere 3 yards per carry and 49 yards per game out of the backfield in his three starts.

Unfortunately for the Jaguars, the NFL season will not get any easier as they'll take on the first place Houston Texans next week. The Colts will next go head-to-head with the New England Patriots.
