'Falling Skies' Season 5 Premiere: Can Tom Be Trusted? Mysterious Alien Casts Major Doubts Amongst The 2nd Mass [VIDEO]
Tom Mason's lost in space alien encounter will propel the 2nd Mass leader to rally the Falling Skies troops - but not everyone will heed his call.
Falling Skies fifth and final season is almost upon us, and the ragtag members of the 2nd Mass are about to enter the final leg of their post-apocalyptic nightmare. Unfortunately, their guiding light will be dimmed by doubt as season 5 begins.
Tom (Noah Wyle) had to go (again, might we add) and expose himself to an unknown alien being. Last time this happened, the former professor wound up being the first victim of the Espheni's eye worms. Considering Tom is poised to mysteriously find his way back from space in the premiere, its no surprise that some of his compatriots will be reluctant to trust their de facto leader.
"This [mysterious alien] promptly suggests a rallying cry to Tom, one that will rub some of his comrades in the 2nd Mass the wrong way after he (somehow!) gets back to Earth," TV Line reported on Monday.
While this new ET will play a hugely important role in season 5, the sage creature won't have much of a physical presence.
"I can tell you that the alien you saw in season 4 becomes an important part for the story line this season," Moon Bloodgood (Anne) told Three if by Space. "You don't visually see it, but Tom refers back to it in the finale."
It sounds like we'll spend the final season questioning our hero as well.
