'Pretty Little Liars' Season 6: Lesli Stone Is 'A' Suspect Number 1? Shocking Twist Coming In Episode 6

Not four, not six, but five years will pass between this summer's "Game Over, Charles" and this winter's "Of Late I Think of Rosewood," according to ET Online.

Showrunner Marlene King made the announcement last Thursday as she took the stage at Citi's "An Evening with Pretty Little Liars" in Los Angeles.

Viewers originally believed the time jump would only be four years, long enough to cover the Liars' time at college. However, a recent tweet from actress Troian Bellisario indicated that her character Spencer will be 24 in the midseason premiere; a fact which prompted speculation that six-years would fly by during the brief hiatus. King has neatly split the difference.

"The Liars were a big part of that [flash-forward] decision because those incredible actresses really have outgrown the teenage years," King said of her cast, most of whom are in their late 20s. "Time was moving very slowly in Rosewood and we were ready to speed it up."
