Hannibal's Bryan Fuller will soon bring Gaiman's divine cross-country adventure to Starz, and as an executive producer, Gaiman will have an integral role to play in creating the adaptation.
Unlike many book-to-television series, Starz will allow American Gods' original mastermind to jump into the drivers seat for several episodes.

"Neil Gaiman is going to be writing episodes of the show," Fuller informed Collider at the Saturn Awards, adding that handing the pen back to Gaiman will make sure that the series has "scope."
There is no hard and fast premiere date for the upcoming series, but Fuller assured fans that his team is "cracking away."
"I am thrilled, scared, delighted, nervous and a ball of glorious anticipation," Gaiman said, according to Starz. "The team that is going to bring the world of American Gods to the screen has been assembled like the master criminals in a caper movie: I'm relieved and confident that my baby is in good hands."
