Last fall, the CW drama floored fans when they introduced Crowley's (Mark Sheppard) devious mother, but the pair's season finale confrontation made even the worst Thanksgiving dinner seem like a joyous affair.
Now that filming for season 11 is just around the corner, Ruth Connell has opened up about Rowena's fraught relationship with her son and the secret behind Crowley's father.
"I mean we still don't exactly know who his real father was, and Olivette said something about 'you lay with a man with no magic'. There's something there. And I have my own theories about it," Connell told Fangasm, reminding viewers how odd it is that she left "Crowley at age 8 and was taken in by that poor family and managed to actually love and have feelings for a boy Oscar, who was 8..."
It's clear Rowena isn't completely incapable of love - although she is also perfectly of killing the ones she loves - and it's that fact which appears to hurt Crowley the most. Considering where season 10 left off, it's safe to say that the pair will be more interested in murdering each other than having a heart-to-heart.
"I think there's so much scope for backstory," Connell teased.
