Wayward Pines' residents are on the brink of destruction, and Plot 33 is just one piece in a much larger game.

The bizarrely empty parcel of land caught the attention of Peter McCall before his death, but the realtor's confused desperation led him to suicide before he could discover if Plot 33 really is a way out of the nightmarish village. Alas, if only he knew what waited beyond the fence, perhaps McCall wouldn't have been quite so keen to leave his quaint/suffocating community behind.
Unless there's a TARDIS hiding in the bushes, it's safe to say Plot 33 won't provide the adults a magical portal back home. Despite this, EP Chad Hodge warns that there is something not quite kosher about the barren lot.

"I wouldn't say it's the show's next big mystery, but it's one of them," Hodge told TV Line. "And it's a key to the final chapter of Wayward Pines."
Well, that certainly means it's still worth scratching our collective heads over. A slight red herring for the town's folk could yield far more satisfying results for the viewer.
