Kansas State vs Baylor, Live Stream FREE, Watch NCAA Online @ 7 PM CST
A mere two wins stand between No. 1 Kansas State (10-0) and a spot in its very first BCS championship football game. However, the first must come versus a program they've lost two straight to, Baylor (4-5).
The Wildcats can clinch at the very least, a share of the Big 12 title on Saturday while moving closer to a trek to Miami by handing the Bears their sixth loss in seven games.
Slightly ahead of the No. 2 seeded Oregon, Kansas State currently sits atop the BCS rankings while Notre Dame third. The Wildcats will end their storybook season against No. 18 Texas at home on Dec. 1.
"We're just honored to be there. I'm just going to encourage our guys to not change the way we approach things and try to stay grounded," said Kansas State coach Bill Snyder, according to ESPN.
Interesting enough, Kansas State hasn't pulled out a victory at Waco since Oct. 26, 2002. The Wildcats have lost two in a row there, most recently on Oct. 23, 2010.
In the two teams' last matchup, QB Colin Klein orchestrated a fourth-quarter comeback as Kansas State prevailed against the Bears 36-35 at home on Oct. 1, 2011. The signal caller overcame a nine-point margin by running for a one-yard touchdown before the winning field goal was kicked.
Klein will likely be a crucial factor as he's an important part of Kansas State's current success. The team will look to obtain its first conference title since 2003.
"It is pretty cool. You always see that kind of stuff growing up. At the same time, I am just trying to take care of mine and our business there. Just trying to take one more step," Klein explained.
