'Sister Wives' Cast: Polygamous Family Featured On Show Asks For Own 'Marriage Equality' After Supreme Court Ruling [PHOTO]
Hot on the heels of the Supreme Court legalizing same-sex marriage throughout the United States, a polygamous family that was featured on an episode of TLC's Sister Wives has filed a petition of their own to have their union legalized.

Nathan, Victoria and Christine Collier, who appeared on a season 5 episode of the TLC show which follows the daily lives of fellow polygamists, the Brown family, applied for a marriage license June 30, in an attempt to apply the Supreme Court's recent historic ruling to their own marriages.
Nathan, 46, and Victoria, 40, have been legally married since the year 2000--but his second wife, Christine, is not recognized as a legal spouse in the eyes of the law.

"She's put up with my crap for a lot of years," Nathan says. "She deserves legitimacy."
The Colliers have excommunicated from the Mormon Church.
There may be a chance that the Colliers will succeed with their petition, as there was some reasoning in the dissent to legalize gay marriage that said it "would apply with equal force to the claim of a fundamental right to plural marriage," People reports.
The Colliers have also asked the ACLU for help if they are denied the marriage license, and have intentions on suing the state in addition. However, the ACLU's legal director has also said that the ruling was about something very different from polygamy.
The Brown family has not made any similar movements to have Kody's marriages to Meri, Janelle and Christine legalized in addition to the one he has with Robyn.
