'Falling Skies' Season 5: Pope To Take Hal Hostage? Tom Plans Rescue Mission In Episode 5 [VIDEO]
The survivors of Falling Skies will head off the rails as the war for Earth comes to an end.
From torturing skitters to taking hostages, the 2nd Mass is about to take Tom Mason's (Noah Wyle) call to arms just a bit too far. Amongst these culprits will be the none other than the post-apocalypse's resident troublemaker, John Pope (Colin Cunningham).
Never a fan of Tom's leadership, the ex-con will take matters into his own hands by the end of episode 4, which is aptly titled "Pope Breaks Bad." Apparently, this will somehow necessitate wrangling Hal Mason (Drew Roy) away from his family. Unless the eldest Mason boy chooses to leave on his own, that is.
'Falling Skies' Season 5 Spoilers: Noah Wyle On A 'Darker' Tom; Will He Go To Far?
"The 2nd Mass leaves Chinatown en route to what they hope will be the final Espheni battle," reads the synopsis for episode 5, "Non-Essential Personnel." "Along the way, they encounter a deranged and desperate gunman who takes Weaver hostage. Meanwhile, Tom sets off to rescue Hal from Pope and his dangerous group of survivors."
Perhaps the Mason/Pope feud will come to a climactic end? Tom and his boys have taken swings at the wisecracking rouge in the past (and vice versa), but their tenuous alliance has benefited the 2nd Mass in the long run.
