Anderson Cooper was nearly hit by an airstrike while he was covering the Middle East unrest from Gaza City for CNN on Tuesday.

The airstrike produced a loud explosion near Cooper's office in the city and were captured while he was on air. A video posted on YouTube, shows how the loud noise disturbs the host leaving without words.

"Massive series of blasts about 5 or 6 blocks away in central Gaza City. Possible secondary blasts followed initial strike," he tweeted Tuesday night.

Today is the seventh day of an Israeli military offensive in response to repeated rocket attacks of Hamas activists living in Gaza and attacking big cities in Israel.

Israel has launched hundreds of airstrikes in the last days killing more than 130 Palestinians and five Israelis. The Israeli offensive is targeting rocket-launching sites, storages of weapons ands homes of Hamas activists.

Hamas' activists have launched hundreds of rockets into Israel as well.

As of Tuesday, both sides failed to reach a cease-fire agreement even with the intervention of U.S. secretary of state Hillary Clinton, U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon and Egypt's president Mohammed Morsi.

Israel demands that Hamas ends firing rockets to Israel and stops smuggling weapons into Gaza through tunnels under the border with Egypt, according to the Associated Press.

"Hamas wants Israel to stop all attacks on Gaza and lift tight restrictions on trade and movement in and out of the territory that have been in place since Hamas seized Gaza by force in 2007," reports the Associated Press.
