The Vampire Diaries may be changing its direction with the loss of Nina Dobrev as Elena Gilbert, but the series is heading into this new era on a high note since it swept up a bunch of nominations at the Teen Choice Awards 2015!

Last month the first wave of nominees was released, in which TVD earned a nod for Choice TV Show: Sci-Fi/Fantasy.
Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley each earned a nod in the Choice TV Actor: Sci-Fi/Fantasy category while their female costars Dobrev and Candice Accola earned nods for the female equivalent category.

Accola gushed on Twitter about her nomination in the Choice TV Actress: Sci-Fi/Fantasy category on June 10.
"You guys are making me blush!" she beamed.
Wesley was over the moon too and shared his thanks on Twitter too.
They're surely stoked for the other nominations they just earned too. On Tuesday the second wave of nominees were revealed and TVD earned a few more to add to their already five nominations.
Chris Wood has been acknowledged in the Choice TV Villain category while Kat Graham is nominated in the Choice TV: Scene Stealer category.
Wood is super stoked for his nomination! His "WOW" kind of says it all on Twitter.
Some other nominations the cast just received include Graham and Somerhalder for Choice TV: Chemistry as well as Somerhalder being nominated for Choice TV: Liplock with Dobrev. That duo isn't the only liplocking vampires in the category though. Accola and Wesley also got a nod there!

The Vampire Diaries racked up 10 nominations this year. The series has been a powerful force at the TCAs since 2010.
