Castle has added yet another actor to its roster ahead of the season 8 premiere.

'Castle' Star Nathan Fillion Discusses Potential Rick-Kate Breakup

Actor Sunkrish Bala has signed on for the recurring role of Vikram Singh, according to a new Entertainment Weekly report. Vikram is described as a "high-strung tech analyst with a complicated past." This will be a recurring role.

Some of Bala's past credits include ABC's Modern Family and Showtime's Shameless, but he is perhaps most famous for playing Dr. Caleb Subramanian in AMC's The Walking Dead.

'Castle' Star Stana Katic Shares Thoughts On If Beckett Will Become New Captain

Bala joins the another new addition to Castle this season, Toks Olagundoye, who is playing security specialist Hayley.

News of Bala's casting comes amid comments from new show runners Alexi Hawley and Terence Paul Winter that they would "shake things up" in season 8. This also includes the removal of Captain Gates, played by Penny Johnson Jerald. The actress was surprisingly removed from the cast after season 7, with four seasons under her belt.

David Amann, who stepped in as show runner at the beginning of season 7, also exited his post, replaced by Hawley and Winter. Amann had originally replaced show creator Andrew W. Marlowe.

There was also some question about where the crime procedural would be renewed for an eighth season, considering stars Nathan Fillion (Castle) and Stana Katic (Beckett) did not renew their contracts until the last weeks of the season. Both actors reportedly have one-year deals, so we will see if they choose to renew their contracts at the end of season 8.

In the mean time, Castle season 8 premieres Monday, Sept. 21 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
