'CSI' Las Vegas: Work Begins On Series Finale, Shocking Returns & 'Pivotal Deaths' Teased [VIDEO]
The CSI: Crime Scene Investigation cast is ready to don their gloves for the final time.
The breakthrough CBS drama blazed the way for forensics' television takeover, but all good things must come to an end eventually. A two-hour series finale is currently in the works for Las Vegas and DB Russell's (Ted Danson) team is almost ready to head back to set.
"Started today on #csi finale, recognize that photo? @LouisMilito directing the final CSI," producer Frank Waldeck tweeted on Thursday (see photo below).
CBS will reunite the series' original cast for a memorable sendoff, bringing Supervisor Gil Grissom (William Petersen) and Asst. Supervisor Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger) back into the fold. It is currently unknown, however, weather or not Nick (George Eads) will return following his season 15 exit.
Unfortunately, this highly awaited melding of the old and new casts will be tainted by a "pivotal death," according to TV Line. For a group of investigators that makes a living looking at corpses, it's not particularly surprising the grim reaper will slice his scythe through their series finale. Who will die, however, remains a mystery.
