The Norseman will have a chance to best his brother in Paris, but his impending marriage to Princess Gisla won't be a cakewalk. Unfortunately for Rollo, this may be one battle he can't win by brute strength alone.
"He thinks this is going to be an easy ride, and then we've all seen how he reacted to Gisla's speech," Standen told Entertainment Weekly. "He hasn't got a clue."
To make his plan actually work, the bear will have to change his tune. From war strategy to familial problems, Rollo will have to essentially become a different person.
"We're going to see a completely different Rollo, if he's ever going to conquer Paris and conquer the princess," Standen teased. "He has to be far more cerebral, he has to be on his A-game all the time, and his attitude to Ragnar has to change."
At least the Viking may have the aid of a time jump when season 4 kicks off. A few extra months could save viewers from having to endure a long and arduous language barrier between a stubborn Gisla and her betrothed.
Check in with Rollo when Vikings returns to the History Channel in 2016.
