They've had one of the most volatile and crazy relationships in Port Charles history, but Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly (Laura Wright) are determined to give marriage another shot on General Hospital.

The pair have become engaged again with plans to marry for a fifth time--despite the fact that the decision likely won't be very popular with both their loved ones and their enemies. However, the two, who have managed to survive their toughest tests yet following Franco (Roger Howarth) revealing the truth about AJ's murder, Sonny being convicted and sent to prison, personal attacks from Michael (Chad Duell) and several other obstacles, they are more ready than ever to really commit to each other for good.

"The best part of me has always been with you," Sonny says to Carly in a preview clip for the Friday, July 17 episode.

However, the two will need to accept that there is a chance Michael won't agree to attend their wedding, despite their expressing their hopes that he would let go of all the pain they caused him through AJ;s murder and the huge cover-up surrounding it. Now, freshly armed with the information about what his parents are planning, Michael will tell Sabrina (Teresa Castillo) about the wedding--and will possibly ask her to give him advice on how to handle it, much like she did when he needed advice after losing ELQ because he kept Avery away from Sonny.

"My mom and Sonny are getting married," he says to her in the clip.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
