'Doctor Who' Season 9: Twelve Has Gallifrey On The Mind, When Will Planet Return? Peter Capaldi Explains [VIDEO]
Doctor Who's Twelve has home on his mind.
'Doctor Who' Season 9: Tenth Season Confirmed, Catch The Sneaky Announcement
Gallifrey is out there, somewhere, and it's an itch that the Doctor will always want to scratch. Even though Twelve (Peter Capaldi) doesn't appear to be actively looking for the missing planet, it's never far from his mind.
"I think he does absolutely want to find Gallifrey. It's a duty," Capaldi told io9 at San Deigo Comic-Con. "In some ways, the Doctor is quite an old-fashioned character. He does have a recognition of duties and loyalties, but these are things that are deep-set in him. I don't think he'll ever feel satisfied that Gallifrey is safe until he finds it."
The questions, however, is when (if ever) will the roaming Time Lord find his way back home? And when he gets there, what will he do about his enemies? "The End of Time" put the Doctor at odds with the High Council (not that they were particularly fond of him any way), and Moffat assures viewers that some people will be in for an "arse-kicking" once Twelve (or one of his future iterations) places his feet on Gallifrey's deep red grass.
Do you think a return to Gallifrey is on the horizon? Could the Master (Michelle Gomez) hold the key to finding it? Sound off in the comments below!
