The Kansas State Wildcats slowly but surely reached the No. 1 spot in the BCS rankings before coming up short in an upset against Baylor a few weeks ago, which completely halted its national championship aspirations.

As if its heart-breaking loss to the Bears wasn't bad enough, the team had an extra week off, which inevitably gave them some additional time to dwell on what may potentially be remembered as the biggest disappointment in the program's history.

Nonetheless, the show must go on for the now No.6 Wildcats (10-1), who will take the field on Saturday for their home finale when they host the No.18 Texas Longhorns (8-3). With a victory, Kansas State can still take the Big 12 crown and gain a BCS bowl spot.

"We definitely need to get back on track. There's definitely that mentality. I don't know if I'd necessarily call it anger, but there's a lot of motivation and buildup of we just need to get back on track," quarterback Collin Klein told ESPN.

"Our last two performances haven't been stellar. There's a lot of motivation there. I don't know if it's anger, but there's some motivation, no doubt," he added.

The Wildcats were one of the nations hottest teams under the superb performance of their senior signal caller along with head coach Bill Synder. To top it off, Kansas State's defense also managed to hold down some of the NCAA's strongest offenses.

In the game against Baylor, Klein threw three picks in what was arguably his worst showing as a starter. He was also limited to a mere 39 yards on the ground. Running back John Hubert ran for just 43 yards while the Wildcats' usually stellar defenders were unsuccessful in putting a stop to quarterback Nick Florence.
