Longmire season 4 will be released in its entirety on Thursday, Sept. 10. The 10-episode season will pick up where it left off in the season 3 finale, with Walt (Robert Taylor) searching for his wife's killer.

Netflix announced the official release date at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour on Tuesday.

The season 4 release date had previously been unannounced, despite cast and crew wrapping up production earlier in the month.

Longmire has had quite a year since last August, when it was cancelled by A&E after three seasons due to low ratings in the adults 18-49 demographic. However, the drama was the highest rated scripted show on the network, so fans were baffled.

Those fans took to Twitter to launch an epic campaign to save Longmire. After fielding offers from various networks and studios, Netflix finally swooped in in November to pick it up. Netflix ordered a 10-episode fourth season, and the rest is history.

As with most Netflix releases, the fourth season will be released all at once. This means that fans no longer have to wait a week to find out what happens next. They can simply go to the next episode, at their own leisure.
