The upcoming ABC Family program is looking to put a more adult spin on their adaptation of Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instrument series, and actress Katherine McNamara (Clary) has the scoop on the springtime arrival.
"We've shot six episodes so far, it's been a crazy ride," McNamara teased, according to StyleCaster. "But it's such a fun world to live in because anything's possible. It's a very dark, very edgy, very sexy, very violent show and it kind of opens the door to [an] older audience in a very interesting and cool way.
Set to have a 13 episode first season, Shadowhunters will follow the story of 17-year-old Clary as she uncovers her heritage as a nephilim (half angel, half human) when her mother is kidnapped. Working alongside fellow shadowhunter Jace (Dominic Sherwood) and her strictly human BFF Simon, Clary must learn to master her newfound skills while untangling the plot behind her mother's disappearance.
A high-octane story demands a host of fight scenes and kick-butt stunts, one of which you can see the actress practicing below.
