After the tragic loss of her Mob Wives co-star, Angela “Big Ang” Raiola, Drita D’Avanzo said she couldn’t be happier that chapter is behind her.

She opened up about the losing Big Ang, who died of cancer roughly a month ago, and said, “I’m usually the one that makes all my friends laugh, but Ang was the one that used to make me laugh. She would just bring light to a terrible situation, in my eyes.”

She added that their bond and friendship went beyond the reality TV cameras as she got emotional in her interview with Us Weekly Tuesday.

“And it wasn’t just for TV, it wasn’t to take Instagram pictures. We had a great friendship…She was my only true friend on ‘Mob Wives.’”

The show’s series finale aired last Wednesday and was followed by a special tribute for the reality star. D’Avanzo added that Big Ang had a feeling that her time was coming to an end.

She revealed that the two were speaking to one another around this time last year and Big Ang pointed out that her mother also had an untimely death.

“‘You know, Drita,’ she goes… ‘she was only 55 years old! That’s me d ting next year! Her life was cut short!’ And that was 12 months ago. And what happened in that 12 months no one can understand.”

Big Ang suffered from throat cancer last year but was told the disease went away after two surgeries. But then it came back in the stage IV form just weeks later.

Her funeral took place in Brooklyn on Feb. 22.
