Laura Prepon had some difficulties adjusting to wearing glasses for her character on Netflix's Orange Is the New Black.

Prepon, who plays Alex Vause on Orange Is the New Black, had some trouble when she first got the part. Alex is very well known now for her glasses, but it was a brave new world for Prepon.

The actress appeared on KTLA on Monday to promote her new health book, The Stash Plan, and spoke about wearing those trademark glasses.

"I never acted with glasses before so when I got the show I had to walk around with the glasses on because you feel like you're acting through a pane of glass," she admitted. "It's a very weird thing at first. And now it's like second nature. I just put them on and I'm just like, Alex. It's cool."

Prepon was also asked to divulge some secrets about the upcoming fourth season of the prison dramedy, but she was predictably tight-lipped.

"You know I can't give any spoiler alerts!" she exclaimed. She added that she will be "right back to work" as season 4 premieres in June. "It's been a busy hiatus period for sure."

Orange Is the New Black was recently renewed for three seasons by Netflix, a relatively unprecedented move for television that allows some nice job security for the show's sprawling cast. However, the nature of the show - which has prisoners going in and out of Litchfield all the time—does allow for big changes.

While Piper (Taylor Schilling) was the clear lead of the show in the first season, she has since become just a regular character in the cast, so it's possible that even she could leave the show at some point and it wouldn't affect the dynamic too much.

Prepon herself had other commitments during the filming of season 2 and was only seen in four episodes. She has since come back and been promoted to series regular status again.

Orange Is the New Black returns for season 4 on Friday, June 17 on Netflix.
