There's been a lot of secrecy shrouding the upcoming season of Game of Thrones, and some new images released for the show seem to only add more questions to the minds of impatient fans.

The new images (obtained exclusively by Entertainment Weekly), feature a few of the show's characters, including Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) and Varys (Conleth Hill), Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright), Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) and Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner). And though some small things appear to be addressed in the images, there aren't any major clues into what fans will see in the season.

Naturally, the photos completely ignore Jon Snow's (Kit Harington's) fate, which the show has insisted is that the character is dead, though they seem to address how things will be going in Mereen for Tyrion, who is ruling in Daenerys' place while Jorah (Ian Glen) and Daario (Michael Huisman) try to find her following her epic flight out of the city on Drogon's back, as well as Jaime's return to King's Landing with his daughter Myrcella's dead body. Even what has happened to Bran (who was absent during season five) seems to be addressed in an image of himself standing with the Three-Eyed Raven (Max von Sydow).

However, the images of the female characters seem to bring even more questions about the fates they will face in the new season.

Arya's image shows her blinded, with a bloodied lip, and on the streets of Braavos trying to defend herself. Though her disobeying the rules of the House of Black and White explain her blindness, the fact that she is back out on the streets of the city and no longer behind the fortress walls suggest she has been expelled from there entirely, and she may need to figure out a new way to complete her kill list.

Dany, meanwhile, is shown in chains while a prisoner of a Dothraki tribe, who picked her up after she fled Mereen. The image caption seems to hint a horrifying fate for her, however, as she is rumored to learn that the tribes have special rules for how wives of fallen leaders are to be treated.

Sansa's fate is also questionable, because while she and Theon are both alive after their jump from a Winterfell wall, it appears that they could be truly still on the run and in danger of being caught by Ramsay (Iwan Rheon).

Game of Thrones season six premieres April 24 at 9 p.m. on HBO.
