'Shadowhunters' Finale Spoilers: Jace's 'Darkness' To Spill Out? Dominic Sherwood Dishes On 'Morning Star' [VIDEO]
Jace Wayland will tap into his dark side before Shadowhunters' season finale comes to a close.
Children are a reflection of their parents, and it is that very axiom that has Jace (Dominic Sherwood) sweating his future. Now that the young warrior knows his pop's true identity, Sherwood's character will start to wonder if Valentine's (Alan Van Sprang) penchant for villainy runs in his own veins. In "Morning Star," the fair-haired hero will be on a quest for answers.
"There's darkness within him, and for the first time, he doesn't know how to stand on his own two feet," Sherwood told TV Line. "His past was all a lie, so everything he relied on in his upbringing and training is all fabricated. He's really struggling with his identity, and he believes the only way he's going to get answers is through Valentine. You can definitely expect us to explore the dichotomy of good and evil within Jace."
It's a journey that will have high stakes - both emotionally and physically - and it's one Jace will embark on without Clary (Katherine McNamara). While his sis is busy trying to find the Book of the White, Jace and Alec (Matthew Daddario) will go after Valentine.
"The mission your talking about is more serious, and it's the first one where Jace says to Clary, 'you're not ready for this. You're not Shadowhunter enough to come on this mission with us,'" Sherwood told EnStars. "So it's an Alec and Jace mission."
As the season comes to a close, expect to see Jace, Clary, and Simon's (Alberto Rosende) stories collide. While the Clave's independent-minded youth strike out at Valentine, the hard-won Downworlder peace will be put in jeopardy.
