'The Night Shift' Season 3: These Two Characters Are NOT Returning, Actors Speak Out [VIDEO]
The Night Shift will be down two doctors when season 3 premieres.
San Antonio Memorial should brace for a staff shortage. Krista (Jeananne Goossen) and Ragosa (Freddy Rodriguez) are turning in their scrubs.
Krista, a surgical resident since day 1, will disappear before the season even beings. Ragosa, former budget manager turned intern, will also drop off the radar ahead of this summer's opening episode.
Goossen, who is currently busy with Nashville and The Walking Dead, took to Twitter over the weekend to explain her departure.
Rodriguez also announced his character's end via social media. Currently working on a project in New York City, the actor revealed Ragosa's fate while talking with a fan.
As sad as we are to see these two series regulars drive off into the Texas sunset, we're excited to meet the Night Shift's latest additions. Get ready to meet Doctor Syd Jennings (Jennifer Beals) and Dr. Shannon Rivera (Tanaya Beatty).
Jennings will enter the storyline when Drew (Brendan Fehr) is deployed to Afghanistan. The premiere will pick up near the end of their six-month tour together, but it is unclear if the Major will transition back to the States.
Beatty's Rivera will become a new series regular, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and she will land a spot in the ER thanks to Jordan (Jill Flint). Described as "spunky and outspoken" with no qualms when it comes to speaking her mind, the former reservation doc will quickly make fast friends even as she ticks off a few other members of the night shift.
