'Teen Wolf' Season 6: No Kira?! Arden Cho Explains Abrupt Exit [VIDEO]
Teen Wolf's Kira Yukimura won't return from her desert excursion when season 6 premieres.
Beacon Hills' resident kitsune has turned in her katana. Arden Cho's character joined up with the Skinwalkers following Theo's little Drag Me to Hell homage, and while the series certainly left the door open for Kira's return, the actress confirmed her season 6 absence on Monday.
"I just want to say I love Kira Yukimura so much," Cho announced in a YouTube vlog. "I love the Yukimura family. I loved my experience on Teen Wolf. I love the cast and crew, it's been an amazing three and a half years. It's gone by so fast. But unfortunately, it looks like we are wrapped up with Kira's storyline and she won't be coming back for season six."
Cho apologized for previous interviews that stated otherwise, explaining that her season 6 fate was not confirmed at the time of those statements.
Kira's exit comes rather abruptly, particularly considering her relationship with Scott (Tyler Posey) and the teen's current battle with her inner Fox. While series creator Jeff Davis can easily resolve the former issue with a few lines of premiere dialoged, it seems the writers will leave viewers wondering about Kira's fate down in New Mexico.
Like us, Cho hoped the series would explore the kitsune's powers further.
"I do wish we would've developed a little bit more of her powers and the skinwalkers and just there would've been more of like an epic ending," Cho said. Luckily, there is always a chance Kira could return down the road. "You never know with Teen Wolf! People might come back. It is what it is."
