She feels deep down that her fall down the stairs that caused her to miscarry the daughter she was expecting with Stitch (Sean Carrigan) was no accident, and now, Abby (Melissa Ordway) will begin investigating his son, Max (Jared Breeze) on The Young and the Restless.

While descending the stairs at the Athletic Club to attend her baby shower, Abby tripped and fell down the stairs, and the fall caused her to lose her baby. There has been no evidence thus far which would suggest it was anything more than a freak accident, but she feels it was something more, and she has even accused Max to his face of doing something. That didn't sit well with Stitch and the two are currently separated because of it. However, Abby is still determined to uncover the truth, even if it risks her marriage, something she's been cautioned against doing.

"Max is a kid," Lily (Christel Khalil) says to her in a preview clip for the Wednesday, May 4 episode. "What you're accusing him of is the kind of thing that can wreck a marriage. Are you willing to risk that?"

Abby does want to investigate still, at the very least so she can be sure, unaware that Max has overheard her say she hired Dylan (Steve Burton) to look into things. And Max not only did do something by stringing a piece of fishing wire across the stairs at the club, which was what caused her to trip, but he also went back to the stairs to collect the evidence later. No one saw any footage of him putting the string across the stairs, but he knows there could still be footage of him removing it, which would give away the truth just as equally. Now, to make sure he doesn't get caught with his crime, he will find a way to sneak into the room storing all of the security footage for the club, in an attempt to destroy or steal the only evidence that can prove what he did.

The Young and the Restless airs Monday-Friday at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
