There was something that may have connected them in the past that Griffin (Matt Cohen) clearly remembers, but Nathan (Ryan Paevey) may finally realize he knows the new doctor in town after catching a glimpse of his telltale scar on General Hospital.

Griffin recognized Nathan when he saw him proposing to Maxie (Kirsten Storms), and has had painful flashbacks to a time when he was shot, something he'll never forget thanks to a scar on his abdomen. However, he hasn't opened up to anybody about any of this. But, when Nathan walks into the hospital locker room and sees Griffin, and his scar, it may trigger his memory, and he could confront Griffin about the past.

"That's a pretty specific type of scar, and I know exactly how you got it," Nathan says to him in a preview clip for the Wednesday, May 4 episode.

Nathan has been covering up something big about his past, though pieces of the story have worked their way out ever since he was shot at Julian (William DeVry and Alexis's (Nancy Lee Grahn) wedding. Maxie has continued to demand answers since then about who the mysterious Claudette was, and Nathan has admitted he was once married to her, but insisted it was only so she could stay in the United States, and the relationship did not end well. He believed it had been dropped, but could be concerned about Griffin holding the key to what really happened, and destroying his life by exposing the part of the story Nathan hasn't shared, which would send him to Pentonville.

What Nathan doesn't know however, is that even if Griffin had never come to Port Charles, Maxie could still uncover the truth, because she has hired Sam (Kelly Monaco) to try and uncover the piece of her past that she knows Nathan is still hiding from her. And now, Sam may have gotten a lead, and she and Maxie could be on their way to discovering the truth for themselves.

"If my information is right, we're going to have a track to go down," Sam says to her in the clip.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
