WARNING: If you have NOT yet seen Season 6, episode 3, "Oathbreaker," do NOT proceed.

He's finally back amongst the living on Game of Thrones, but Jon Snow's (Kit Harington) latest actions could be setting him up for a very different and unexpected journey.

After his return, it became clear that Jon Snow is now a very different man from the one he was before his death. Though he still fulfilled his duties as the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch by executing the men who killed him, including Ser Alliser Thorne (Owen Teale) and Olly (Brenock O'Connor), he made a far more shocking decision after they were officially gone, by taking off his cloak, handing it to Dolorious Edd (Ben Crompton), anointing him as the new Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, and breaking his oath by walking away and saying his watch had ended.

This is a huge moment for any character on the show that took the vows of the Watch, of which they are sworn to serve as part of until their death. Granted Jon did die, but being brought back by Melisandre (Carice Van Houten) would mean he was once again expected to keep his vows. He is now officially considered a deserter, and if the wrong person comes across his path, he could very well find himself dead once again.

Of course, this moment could be setting Jon up to become the kind of character he wasn't always given the chance to be because of his duty to stay at Castle Black. Though none of his siblings have avenged their family member's deaths just yet, they've all been able to make other decisions about their lives, or at least live through the ones others have tried to pawn off on them. Sansa (Sophie Turner) was taken away from King's Landing after Joffrey's death, brought to the Vale, then sent back to Winterfell where she was married to Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon). She is now under Brienne's (Gwendoline Christie) protection somewhere in the Woods, presumably on her way to Castle Black to reunite with her half-brother. Arya (Maisie Williams) finally has her sight back and is still training with the Faceless Men in Bravos. Bran (Isaac Hampstead-Wright) is getting closer to learning some bombshell secrets about the past as he trains with the Three-Eyed Raven (Max Van Sydow) beyond the Wall. And now, Rickon (Art Parkinson) is being taken prisoner in Winterfell by Ramsay.

If word gets to Jon about his brother being in Winterfell, and he manages to cross paths with Sansa and learns about how horrible Ramsay really is, it could lead to a major and epic battle of the North. And if he can unseat perhaps the most loathed man to ever grace the North with his presence (which includes Theon (Alfie Allen) when he tried to take over), it would make his desertion of his vows worth it entirely in the end.

Watch Jon Snow's unexpected moment here.

Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO.
