With the character's hair color being blue, many are speculating that its change from the usual purple is foreshadowing Future Trunks' capability to transform to Super Saiyan Blue. Others, on the other hand, suggest something darker, stating that Future Trunks' hair color was dyed blue intentionally after his mother, who happens to have blue hair too, was killed in the future by Black Goku.
His battle-weariness could be seen in official images of the character too, as it would seem like Trunks is returning to the past as a character that is far more mature than his previous appearances.
