Prepare for the Dark Matter world to expand like the Big Bang. The Raza crew has a whole universe to explore, and, once they battle their way out of prison, One through Six will waste no time diving into the unknown.

Six (Roger Cross) put his shipmates in a tough bind at the end of season 1, and July 1's "Welcome to Your New Home" will see the numerical criminals scattered across the Galactic Authorities prison system. They'll quickly trade jail cells for the wide expanse of space, however, jumping from dark allies to snow covered forests at the speed of light.

"Season 1 was very micro, on a character level, and very ship-centric," series creator Joseph Mallozzi told TV Goodness. "Season 2 we'll be going out more, finding out about the universe and colonized space and the corporations and the fact that it would seem that we're heading for a corporate war, and that forms the back drop. There's significantly more world building."

This world building will be facilitated by several solo adventures. Despite Five's (Jodelle Ferland) efforts to keep her Raza family under one roof, each of the characters will splinter off on their own missions.

"We do a lot more adventures splitting off from each other," Melissa O'Neil (Two) told Flicks and the City at MCM Comic Con. "Last year we were doing a lot of ship-based ensemble pieces and this year we're really branching off and going off on our own adventures. Sometimes it felt like we didn't even work together."

After all, they have brains in your head and feet in your shoes. They can steer yourself any direction you choose. They also have a metric ton of firepower and fight skills that would put ninja to shame, but those are traits Dr. Seuss failed to emphasize.

Reunite with One (Marc Bendavid), Two, Three (Anthony Lemke), Four (Alex Mallari, Jr.), Five, Six, and the Android (Zoie Palmer) when Dark Matter returns to Syfy on July 1. Click the video below to see a preview for season 2!
