The co-hosts of The View opened up on the shocking incident that took place at the zoo in Cincinatti.

Over the weekend, a young boy was at the zoo with his mother at the gorilla exhibit when he reportedly wandered off and managed to get in through the enclosure only to come in full contact with the gorilla. The boy was in there for minutes and at one point, the gorilla dragged him around. This led zoo officials to come into full force and eventually shoot the gorilla dead to spare the boy's life.

Ever since the situation went viral, the public has been sending backlash on the boy's mother for apparently not watching her son.

So what did the ladies at the panel have to say about this on the daytime talk show? One thing that was pointed was how there should've been more safety in the zoo's exterior.

"I am shocked that there is a space apparently under here that a kid can crawl through and crawled into some bush," Whoopi Goldberg said. "I'm sorry, you know, when you have animals, everything should be shut. There should not be a way for a kid to climb up and over, slide in and under, there just should not be a way."

Sunny Hostin then admitted that she held some blame against the mother before finding out more details.

"When I first heard about it, I did get judgy and I was thinking, 'What mother would let that happen?' But apparently, she has four children, she had three other children with her and that it's sort of there for the grace of god, that could happen with moms and parents very, very quickly."
