Though a couple of front-burner actors are taking a brief break from General Hospital for various reasons, the soap may still be hotter than ever this summer thanks to the return of two familiar faces from the past.

Both Bradford Anderson (Anthony Spinelli) and Ingo Rademacher (Jax) are confirmed to be making appearances on the show this summer as part of some big storylines, according to various reports.

Anderson, who last made a guest appearance last winter for a Christmas episode where he brought his daughter Georgie back to Port Charles so Maxie (Kirsten Storms) wouldn't have to spend the holiday alone, will be coming back as early as next week, likely to lend his sleuthing and hacking skills to one or more story lines which could use his help on the show.

Three big mysteries are still unsolved on the show, and Spinelli could be the key to cracking one of them, whether it be what really happened to Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher), who's kidney Josslyn (Eden McCoy) received since Jake (Hudson West) isn't dead, or who has been injecting patients at the hospital and nearly killed Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes) as a result. It's unclear just which he may be involved in.

Rademacher meanwhile, is expected to make a guest star appearance beginning on July 29, reprising his role as Jasper "Jax' Jacks, Carly's ex-husband and Josslyn's father. Soap Central confirmed the news of his return after previously hinting at it with a blind item tweet earlier in the week.

"For #GH fans upset over the influx of new faces, a fan fave will be transplanted back into Port Charles by summer's end," their tweet read.

It is unclear if their tweet also hinted what Rademacher's return will be in reference to, by discussing a transplant, since Carly (Laura Wright) has been actively trying to figure out what happened during their daughter's kidney transplant. It would seem as though his return would be related to that story.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
