'Quantico' Season 2: Can Ryan & Alex Make It Work? Josh Safran Previews New Problems [VIDEO]
Despite what fans may hope, Quantico season 2 will not be smooth sailing for Ryan and Alex.
The former FBI agent and her workplace beau were pushed together and ripped apart like capricious magnets over the course of season 1, ultimately finding a modicum of happiness in the finale. Their bliss won't last, however, and the pair will be subject to another rollercoaster ride as Alex (Priyanka Chopra) becomes a spook.
"If Season 1 was fast, Season 2 will be slower, just merely by the nature of [Alex] being in the CIA and not on the run anymore," series creator Josh Safran teased, according to TV Guide. "I think, if anything, we'd get to spend more time with the characters and relationships, and tackle them that way. And we'll see how her new role [in the CIA] affects them."
While we know Chopra and Jake McLaughlin (Ryan) will return this fall, Safran has yet to announce what other characters will make the jump as Quantico moves to Langley.
"We have new stories to tell, and there will be returning cast members, but season 2 is definitely more of a new novel than the next chapter," the showrunner explained to Entertainment Weekly. "It's like, instead of a sequel that continues the story, [we follow] the character who's been through what they've been through but further down their road. So yes, there will be new people, new circumstances, but also returning people."
One such newbie will be Being Human's Russell Tovey. Set to take on the roll of Harry Doyle, it remains to be seen if the Brit will throw up any road blocks for alex and Ryan.
