The catalyst for Quantico's next adventure will have the America's alphabet agencies longing for the days of the Grand Central bombing.

Alex Parrish (Priyanka Chopra) jumped ship for the CIA following her unceremonious discharge from the FBI, and the season 2's opening salvo will throw the intrepid agent into the trenches one more.

"The event in season 2 is probably even bigger than season 1 on some level," Quantico creator Josh Safran told Entertainment Weekly. "But while it is bigger, it's also more contained. It allows us to feel more rooted every time we travel from one timeline to another. Again, if season 1 was sort of The Fugitive, season 2 has another blockbuster in mind."

So, which film will the series emulate this time around? Safran wouldn't say, but you can bet the upcoming run will focus on the FBI and CIA's inability to play nice. They're two sides of the same coin, and it sounds as if Alex will have to liaise between the two.

"What I can say is that we're very interested in looking at how the CIA does things compared to the FBI. The FBI teaches honest and trust and finding the truth and protection, and the CIA teaches deception and lying and twisting information to get what you want, what you need," Safran explained, according to Entertainment Weekly. "We're definitely interested in juxtaposing those two things and seeing how both sides work separately, and how they work when they're forced to work together.

Are you ready to dive back into the world of subterfuge and traitors? Liam (Josh Hopkins) is dead and gone, but Claire Haas (Marcia Cross) is still at large. Will the politico play a role in season 2's mystery? Find out when Quantico returns to ABC this fall.
