There's not a lot of hope a new lead will pan out, but learning the identity of the mystery woman who has been meeting with Victor (Eric Braden) at the prison could be the last chance for not only Victoria (Amelia Heinle) to figure out who is sabotaging Newman Oil, but for Adam (Justin Hartley) to be able to prove his innocence in Constance's alleged murder on The Young and the Restless.

Adam was mostly resigned to having to accept he was going down for a crime he didn't commit, with each possible avenue that would prove his innocence being completely cut off at every turn. However, there will be a small glimmer of hope after Michael (Christian Le Blanc) learns from Kevin (Greg Rikaart) that Victor did have a female accomplice who was meeting up with him at the prison, and he realizes that the same woman Victoria suspects has been causing the oil rig spills for Victor is also the one that has been helping set Adam up at every turn.

With the new information in hand, Michael will go to tell Adam the good news, but he will make sure to warn him that they have a very limited amount of time to track this woman down, and they could wind up not succeeding when it comes to doing so.

"We have a lead on the person who helped Victor frame you," Michael says to him in a preview clip for the Wednesday, June 29 episode.

After contacting Dylan (Steve Burton) about the last possible lead, they will learn that finding her could be more difficult than they had imagined. Not only is her face not visible on the prison security camera footage, but she signed in as Dorothy Gale on the visitor's log. However, knowing it could be the last possible chance they have at getting Adam off the hook for what appeared to be a murder, the men will do whatever it takes to try and find the mystery woman and get her to testify what really happened.

The Young and the Restless airs Monday-Friday at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
