It's finally happening, Flash fans. As of Wednesday, the DC TV universe officially put Flashpoint in front of the cameras.

Grant Gustin (Barry) and the rest of The Flash cast returned to Vancouver this week, ready to dive into Central City's new timeline. Details regarding the aptly titled "Flashpoint" premiere are being kept tightly under wraps, but that didn't stop the excited actors from posting updates as filming began.

Gustin and Carlos Valdes (Cisco) were still sporting their hiatus beards when they arrived back on set.

Their facial hair quickly went down the drain, much to Gustin's chagrin.

Candice Patton (Iris), meanwhile, was looking as gorgeous as ever.

The cast has already read both episodes 1 and 2, and everyone seems psyched to tackle Geoff Johns’ 2011 storyline.

“I just finished reading the 2nd episode,” Gustin teased. “This is going to be the strongest start to a season yet.”

Fans should remember, however, that just like the series’ take on Reverse Flash and Zoom, The Flash will put it’s own unique spin on the aftermath of Barry’s time-hoping rescue mission. “We're definitely doing this FP thing our own way,” Gustin informed fans back in June. “I've read Flashpoint, I've seen the amazing animated film. This will be its own thing.”

Catch up with Scarlet Speedster and the STAR Labs team when The Flash returns to The CW on Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. ET.
