'Big Brother 18' Updates: Julie Chen Speaks Freely About 'Naive' New Houseguests [VIDEO]
Big Brother host Julie Chen is not mincing words about the gameplay of the new houseguests this season.
The four returning houseguests on Big Brother 18 have mostly dominated the season thus far, even though the newbies outnumbered them 12 to four in the beginning. Chen spoke about the average to poor gameplay going on with some of the newbies this season in a new interview.
"I don't even think it's so much that the returnees are so savvy. These newbies are just not that sharp!" Chen told Entertainment Weekly. "At least not the last two that exited. Victor [Arroyo] and Jozea [Flores] are naïve and too confident. Their confidence was not based on anything but their own healthy sense of self."
The show highlighted the game naiveté with Jozea and Victor quite frequently, showing their delusions of grandeur, too-open honesty and poor social ability. Chen discussed Victor's gameplay in particular:
"Victor is just too naïve to play 'Big Brother'. His inability to keep information and his intentions to himself got him evicted this week," she said. "He should have stopped blabbing the truth to everyone... especially non-allies! There's no honesty in 'Big Brother'!"
While the newbies' numbers are dwindling, there is still some hope left. This week has largely seen Frank Eudy's target get bigger and bigger, especially for people within his 8-Pack alliance.
The Big Brother 14 has really dug himself a grave through his behavior lately, including his open schmoozing of all sides of the house and his harassment of various female houseguests. Unfortunately for them, Bridgette Dunning won HOH this week and considering she is on Frank's team, that means he's safe for another week. However, it's looking like Frank might be the first veteran to go if he keeps up this behavior.
Big Brother 18 airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET, Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET and Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
