After months of waiting, Netflix has finally given the green light for season 3 of Bloodline.

Netflix announced on Wednesday that Bloodline will be back for a third season, allowing fans to breathe a sigh of relief after that gripping cliffhanger in the season 2 finale.

"Todd [A. Kessler], Daniel [Zelman], and Glenn [Kessler] have created a riveting family saga featuring one of the most talented ensembles in the history of television. We can't wait to see what the next chapter holds for the all-too-human Rayburns," Cindy Holland, Vice President of Original Content at Netflix, said in a statement.

Like season 2, the third season will feature 10 episodes and will bring back Kyle Chandler (who plays John), Sissy Spacek (Sally), Ben Mendelsohn (Danny), Linda Cardellini (Meg) and Norbert Leo Butz (Kevin). Other actors are not yet confirmed.

It remains to be seen how the show will continue to film in the Florida Keys. After all, the tax credit incentives in Florida are ending this summer, which could make production more expensive overall. However, considering Netflix decided to renew the series, it can be assumed that a budget has probably been worked out.

The show's creators and executive producers have spoken in the past about planning out multiple seasons.

"We always planned on multiple seasons. It's about the family and the relationships of those family members," Glenn Kessler told Deadline previously. "Danny was always going to [die], like in 'Crime and Punishment' and other stories where it happens early. 'Bloodline' is about watching these relationships evolve."

He also described the appeal of setting Bloodline in the Florida Keys:

"A picture postcard beautiful paradise. But it has a very creepy underbelly of human trafficking, drug trafficking," he said, of the Keys. "It is the most southern point in the United States, it's the closest point to Cuba, and there's a lot of weirdness which is great for the show. There's a lot of texture. People do seem to drop out of their lives there from a lot of places. They're either running to something or running from something."

Bloodline season 3 will drop at some point in 2017.
