Shaunie O’Neal might be the executive producer of VH1’s Basketball Wives LA, but she has made it clear she is not the reason Brandi Maxiell is back on the show after Maxiell insulted her in the season finale last year.

“The personal part of me did not want to bring Brandi back. I had just kind of had it. I felt like even though the apologies that happened all of that… If you did this you’ll do that. Personally, I didn’t want to work with her again. VH1 had to step in.”

She added that she had to let her “professional” self be the one to allow Maxiell back on the show. And Maxiell isn’t the only one who O’Neal wanted to give the boot.

“There have been other people like in my mind I wanna be like ‘I wanna fire you right now. I don’t even like you like that.’”

She then revealed, “In Miami I had that moment. She was a dancer. Sorry Royce. Don’t get in your feelings… It’s years later.”

Meanwhile, Maxi definitely is back on the show after not only getting into a heated moment with O’Neal, but having an intense screaming match with Tami Roman, who joined the show last season from the Miami cast.

Maxiell also had a huge spat with Draya Michele, who exited the show after the fourth season. Draya was accused of saying Maxiell’s story line about being a cancer survivor was “too boring” for the show.

Basketball Wives LA returns Sunday at 9/8c on VH1.
