Watch your back, Lucifer; your Supernatural enemies are hot on your trail.

It took three and a half seasons, but the CW spooker picked the lock on Luci's (Mark Pellegrino/Misha Collins) cage last season. After tormenting Sam (Jared Padalecki), becoming Cas' (Collins) bunkmate, and reconciling with his estranged father, the devil himself found himself cajoled into joining the good fight. As it turned out, even an archangel is no match for God's (Rob Benedict) sister.

Amara (Emily Swallow) blasted Lucifer right out of Cas' rightful vessel as season 11 came to an end, and season 12 will find Cas and Crowley (Mark Sheppard) hard on his heels. Luci is out there somewhere, undoubtedly nursing a bruised ego.

For the perpetually guilt-ridden Cas, putting the devil back behind bars will be No. 2 on his to-do list (rescuing Sammy takes precedence, of course). It was the angel's critically low levels of self-esteem that allowed Lucifer to slip his supernatural cuffs, after all.

"Cas feels like it's his mission to make that right," executive producer Robert singer told TV Guide Magazine.

Crowley, meanwhile, will be out for revenge. Lucifer turned the mighty King of Hell into his personal slave, and Sheppard's character will not soon forget the indignity.

"He wants payback," executive producer Andrew Dabb teased. "It's very personal for Crowley in a way a lot of stuff isn't."

In the meantime, we're wondering who will fill Pellegrino's substantial shoes in season 12. Collins mastered the role of the conniving, sadistic villain for 13-episodes, but now that Cas has Jimmy Novak's meat suit all to himself, what mortal will become the devil's new vessel? Only time will tell.

Supernatural will return to The CW on Oct. 13 at 9 p.m. ET. Click the video below to see Casifer (Lucifer in Cas' body) in action.
