'Big Brother 18' News: Is 'BB18' One Of The Worst Seasons Ever? [POLL, VIDEO]
The total of Big Brother 18 houseguests will have dwindled to half by the end of Thursday night, so let's assess how the season has gone so far.
There's a little over a month to go before the Big Brother 18 finale. It's been a summer of showmances, mild gameplay and compelling downfalls so far, but how has the fanbase felt about the season?
By many accounts, Big Brother fans have felt let down by the way this season has played out. The four returning players, Da'Vonne Rogers, Frank Eudy, James Huling and Nicole Franzel played (and in some cases, continue to play) the same type of games they played in their previous seasons. None of them truly emerged as masterminds, even if there was a brief moment where it seemed like Frank was controlling the house.
Frank and Da'Vonne, two of the season's most colorful characters, are now gone, with relative casting duds like Corey Brooks and Zakiyah Everette still in the house. Plus, many of the houseguests seem more interested in finding love that actually playing the game. Meanwhile, Paulie Calafiore has emerged as a type of cult leader, dictating the boot order for most of the season thus far.
This season also suffers from the lack of a breakout star. People like Paul and Paulie are certainly featured in the Diary Room a lot but they are far from fan favorites, as seen in the JokersUpdates popularity poll. Even looking at the Big Brother Facebook page shows that there is a lack of interest in this season as a whole.
Luckily, there has been some moving and shaking this week in the house as many houseguests are catching on to Paulie's schemes. As such, Thursday may be the first instance of a real power shift, which is also a bit alarming considering the season is closer to the end than the beginning.
The results of Thursday night's double eviction may change things for the better (or possibly worst), but where would you rank this season of Big Brother in the overall ranking of seasons?
Big Brother 18 airs Sundays and Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET and Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
