Despite being told the case was closed, he has still been looking into who may have helped frame Adam (Justin Hartley) for a murder he didn't commit, but that decision will lead to trouble for Dylan (Steve Burton) when it comes to his career on The Young and the Restless.

Dylan refused to give up trying to prove that Adam was framed even after he confessed to the crime and took a plea deal when he saw no other way out of his situation. Now, both men have become very suspicious since seeing Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) return to town and they absolutely believe she was the one who teamed up with Victor (Eric Braden) and then turned on him when he no longer wanted to frame his son any longer by failing to produce the diary pages that are needed to free him. However, Dylan's secret investigation will quickly be revealed to Paul (Doug Davidson), and his going against orders won't sit well, forcing Paul to take drastic action against his own son.

"Until you can learn to work within the system, you do not deserve to wear that badge," he says in a preview clip for the Thursday, August 11 episode.

Now, suspended from the force, Dylan will be free to continue investigating, though without the resources of the police department behind him. However, he isn't the only one still fighting for Adam, even though others who are don't believe Chloe is the one behind his troubles.

Chelsea (Melissa Clare Egan) believes Chloe's story that she is no longer holding a grudge over Delia's death and invited her to live in the penthouse with her in the meantime, and she still thoroughly blames Victor for her husband's problems. However, when she confronts him for showing up at her home for her son's birthday party after what he did, Victor will remind her he is on their side, and is the only one who can try to find a way to get Adam freed.

"Just remember one thing, I am Adam's only hope," he says in the clip.
