She is now officially a widow following Nikolas' (Tyler Christopher) presumed death in Greece, but Hayden (Rebecca Budig) is about to get even more news that could upset and shock her concerning her future in Port Charles on General Hospital.

She already knows she isn't getting much of anything from her husband because she wasn't likely a part of his will, and she knows her mother-in-law Laura (Genie Francis) misunderstood a conversation she overheard between Hayden and her own mother, meaning things aren't the best they could be for her. However, now, she will be stunned when she realizes Laura will consult Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) when it comes to deciding what will happen with Spencer (Nicholas Bechtel), now that he is an orphan, and when she realizes the women are considering sending him to a boarding school she will put her foot down about her stepson's fate.

"You think I should let him go away to school?" Laura asks Elizabeth in a preview clip for the Monday, August 22 episode.

"Over my dead body," Hayden replies as she barges into the room.

Her going into the room will then inevitably start off another massive argument between Hayden and Elizabeth, who have never gotten along because they both had issues with one another's involvement in Nikolas's life, and the only thing that will keep Hayden safe will be when Naomi (Robin Riker) then whisks her off to dinner.

However, the meal with her mother also will prove to be hard on Hayden, as she relives her own past as a child sent to boarding school, and then learns her mother looked into what she would get from Nikolas' estate, and she would get nothing since Laura was his trustee. However, as she remains adamant that she stay in Port Charles despite her mother trying to get her to go back to New York City, she could become suspicious that there's another reason Naomi wants her out of town when her mother says she needs to stay as far away from Elizabeth as possible.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
