Supernatural is rallying the troops. Demon hunters, vampire slayers and the like will gather for a hunter's wake this fall, and the gathering will bring about the return of a few familiar faces.

According to recent set photos, Jody Mills (Kim Rhodes) and Mary Winchester (Samantha Smith) will join the mourners.

Mills, a sheriff turned hunter/foster mother, first appeared back in season 5's "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid." Initiated into the supernatural due to personal tragedy, the Sioux Falls investigator quickly became a fan favorite. Although Mills won't tag team with Sheriff Donna Hanscum (Briana Buckmaster), Jody's return will coincide with a dive into the hunter lifestyle that Supernatural hasn't attempted since the Roadhouse burned to the ground.

"In episode 6 we're going to see something we've essentially never seen before, which is a hunter's wake," co-showrunner Andrew Dabb told EnStars at San Diego Comic-Con. "We're going to get some ideas in terms of how [Sam and Dean] are viewed by other hunters, how they view other hunters. Again, it's all about building on this world that we have talked about for many years and we explored at some points with the Roadhouse and things like that, but it's not something that we've dived heavily into for a while."

What we want to know, however, is how this wake will play into Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean's (Jensen Ackles) latest case. Will they be after whatever got the jump on one of their own? Will a supernatural entity dare to disturb a gathering of hunters? Are the Winchesters even welcome at such an event? They seem to work within a network of unseen associates, but there's no denying the fact that the boys have bad blood with a few of their fellows.

Find out what's in store for the Winchesters when Supernatural returns to The CW on Oct. 13 at 9 p.m. ET.
