'The 100' Season 4: What Is 'Raven 2.0'? Lindsey Morgan Teases Unexpected Upgrade [VIDEO]
ALIE will leave an indelible mark on The 100, City of Light or no. The sinister AI is no more, but her presence will linger on in Raven's mind, boosting her already superb intellect. Whether or not this is a god thing, well, that remains to be seen.
Becca's (Erica Cerra) creation took a particular interest in the Ark's premier mechanic during season 3, seeing Raven (Lindsey Morgan) as a way to discover the whereabouts of the Flame. In doing so, the AI gave the injured heroine a little intellectual upgrade. As season 4 begins, you can expect to see this twist play out.
"It's like an upgrade. It's like when you get an upgrade on your phone and you like, 'Sh-t! Everything works so much better now!' And you're down with it, right?" Morgan said at DragonCon earlier this month. "But then, I think it's The 100 and everything isn't what it seems. So let's just leave it at that."
As iOS users learned last week, an update isn't always all it's cracked up to be. While we don't expect this new knowledge to essentially brick Raven, it will certainly have consequences.
That being said, Morgan's character will enter the 2017 run with renewed vigor despite her physical ailments.
"She doesn't really have time to take care of herself and heal and take the care that she needs, and I think you'll see that. She has this new drive, obviously, and she has the ALIE upgrade mentally for her mind, and I think everything that she went through really gave her a spiritual and emotional upgrade," Morgan told EnStars at San Diego Comic-Con. "She chose her pain over being numb; she chose humanity of being dead, basically. With that sense, she's stronger and more focused, but you can't beat reality at times. She's going to give it her all but we'll see how much of a fight she can give."
