His loved ones have been at risk the moment Orpheus (George Del Hoyo) showed up back in town following his escape from prison, and now, John (Drake Hogestyn) will learn that the criminal managed to get one of his family members and is now holding them hostage on Days of Our Lives.

After an attack at Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla's (Mary Beth Evans), Orpheus, Clyde (James Read) and Xander (Paul Telfer) took Joey (James Lastovic) hostage and have been holding him in the warehouse they've holed up in ever since. But now, Orpheus wants to up the threatening level he poses on John and his family, and will do so by making an attempt to grab someone very important to him-his granddaughter, Claire (Olivia Keegan).

Claire managed to make herself an easy target to the danger because she has been frustrated and angry that the situation has forced her to be left without much of a social life, especially since she is trying to grow her career as a singer. And despite numerous warnings not to go out without a bodyguard, she may once again decide to give her grandparents the slip and head out without protection. And when she does, Orpheus will have his opportunity and nab her.

Later, when John learns his granddaughter has once again escaped from protection, he will become increasingly worried. And finally, when he calls her cell phone and it is picked up, he will ask her where she is in the hopes she's just being defiant and can be persuaded to get home safely, before it's too late. But unfortunately for him, Claire won't be the one who actually speaks to him on the call-Orpheus will, and he will gleefully tell John that he has his granddaughter-forcing him to realize that he may need to eventually give in to some of Orpheus' demands if he ever wants to see her alive again.

Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
