Netflix is releasing another Marvel superhero series with the premiere of "Iron Fist." This will be Netflix's fourth superhero series after "Daredevil," "Jessica Jones," and "Luke Cage."

Geek reported that "Iron Fist" will tell the story of Danny Rand who people believed to have died in a plane crash 15 years ago. He will return to New York and will show the struggles between his family's company and his duties as the Iron Fist. It was confirmed that the lead role will be played by "Game of Thrones" star Finn Jones.

Danny lost his parents as a little boy. He was taken in by the denizens of the mystic city of K'un-Lun. Growing up, he then vowed to avenge his parents' death by training martial arts. Before he returned to New York, he acquired the supernatural power of being the Iron Fist.

Time reported that there has been controversy with the show's casting. In the comic books, Iron Fist was depicted as a white male. With that, many critics accused the story of cultural appropriation. Many believed that as Asian actor is the most appropriate for the role since it involves martial arts. However, others also think that it would be racist to cast someone Asian just because the character knows martial arts.

The show will also star Jessica Henwick (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) who will play the role of Colleen Wing. It will also star Jessica Stroup (The Following), Tom Pelphrey (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), and David Wenham (The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King) who will be playing the members of the Meachum family. Wenham will most likely play as the villain in the show. It will have a total of 13 episodes.

It can be expected that Rosario Dawson's character will make an appearance in the show. Carrie Ann Moss will also appear as she plays the role of the lawyer Jeri Hogarth once again.

Netflix's "Iron Fist" is set to be released on March 17, 2017.
